The Belgium striker, 26, who has endured a difficult campaign, is not looking to force a move but boss Jurgen Klopp cannot guarantee him regular football next season.
Benteke said: ‘I knew Liverpool were a massive club with a lot of good players and it wasn’t going to be easy. I never doubt myself and I am going to focus on the Euros and then see what happens. I signed for five years. I have to speak with the manager and see his plans for next season. I am not the only one who is going to do that. I think a lot of players want to know what is going to happen.’
Liverpool believe they have won the race to sign teen prospect Ben Chilwell, 18, from Leicester for £3m. The England Under 21 left back is viewed as one of the best young players in the country.
