Le Clos tied the 100-metre butterfly in a time of 51.66 second along with Aussie Jayden Hadler. America Ryan Lochte was third in 52.64.
Le Clos, however, had to be content with second place in the 200m butterfly in a time of 1:55.47 behind Daiya Seto of Japan who clocked 1:54.68.
Brown, meanwhile, took gold in the men’s 400m freestyle in a time of 3:47.96. That performance followed his second place in the 200m in 1:48.45.
In Rome, Cameron van der Burgh bagged two medals at the annual Sette Colli Trophy.
Van der Burgh won the 50m breastroke in 27.01 and collected silver in the 100m in 1:00.77.
